Krysta {Head Shots}

When a photographer is rebranding and building their business one of the things I suggest doing is getting portraits done to represent that particular person.  Pictures speak a thousand words so when someone is looking to book you not only is it nice to see their portfolio but seeing that the photographer is comfortable in front of the camera, personable, and shows personality is just as important.  All those things can be seen thru a simple photograph.
I met Krysta of Krysta Lynne Photography thru our local photography group, PhotOkinawa.  I totally fell in love with her so when she came to me asking to do some head shots for her new website and rebranding I was stoked.  Somewhere in the conversation she asked if I knew Ashley of Ai Photography because our styles are very similar and I just had to laugh.  Wasn't much of a surprise to her when I told her we are really close and shoot together a lot.  With that being said I had to invite Ashley along.  And to add to all the girl power going on we ending up asking Ariana of MUA Ariana to do Krysta's hair and make.  It was a fun morning filled with laughs, coffee and lunch after.
I have said it before and I will say it probably many many times more.  I love collaborating with other photographers.  The energy is amazing and I will continue to build my relationships with fellow photogs no matter where we live.

Guillen {Family}

I have known the Gillens now for about 2 years.  Mostly thru mutual friends.  I knew Adela had been following my work for some time so when they asked me to do family pictures for them I was very excited.  And even more so when they picked a castle ruins as their location.  Ruins have a special charm that I love.  I don't know if it's the beauty of the scenery, the vibe I get from walking the grounds or the history that goes with the sites.  I just love them.  Thou we thought we would get rained out of our session Okinawa decided not to take her meds and the rain was gone as quick as it came.  Between the little ones being silly little girls and trying to make Elidio smile I had my work cut out for me!  I am happy that the Gillens got to enjoy a new location along with getting some family pictures.  I hope I will get to see them in SoCal next year!

Jennifer {Fitness}

There is nothing I love more than being able to combine my passion for photography with my love of fitness.  Seeing people have the same enthusiasm towards fitness that I have it brings a huge smile to my face.  I met Jennifer within the first year of getting to island.  She was just an extremely sweet person and we hit it off as soon as we started talking about working out.  She is a big Zumba follower so I knew Hot Hula would be perfect for her.  My all time favorite instructor back in SoCal, Anna-Rita was just launching her new brand Hot Hula right before I moved.  I did it a few times when she would demo it during her Kickboxing classes.  Knowing Anna-Rita and her following I knew this new workout craze would do amazing things. Anyways, I passed the info to Jennifer and she fell in love instantly :) There was a certification training going on in Mainland so Jen jumped on that and was so excited to bring Hot Hula to Okinawa.  She has had nothing but amazing things to say about Anna-Rita and the training. Jennifer now has her own class at one of the base gyms and I am beyond excited for her and what she is doing with her passion for fitness.  I am happy I got to do photos for her promotions for both Zumba and Hot Hula.  It was a hot and sweaty session but defiantly worth it! For more info on Jennifer's way of fitness thru dance and music please stop by her FB page and leave some love at Dance Fitness with Jennifer Mckenzie!

Null {Family}

I love when families just flow.  When they are up for anything and their connection not only to each other is amazing but also when they connect with me, their photographer.  When I met Brandee and her two little ones I knew I was in for a treat.  Her two kids, Landen and Hadley were absolutely adorable. And it was defiantly no surprise that they shared an amazing bond the day of the shoot.  Landen was the ultimate big brother doing everything he could to help his little sister out right down to wiping the sand off her sparkly little shoes.  The Null family as a whole were just a joy and was very happy to sneak in a few shots at the end of just Brandee and Doug to celebrate their anniversary which is just as important.  I love to see the love between couples and the bond that started a family.
