Just Me! {Stylized}

For once I was in front of the camera instead of behind it! One of my best friends (who happens to be a fantastic photographer) here on island asked me to test out her new backdrop she made to see how it would look on camera before using it on clients.  I honestly don't know when the last time I had pictures taken of just me so I was game. I had a dress I bought a few months back so I brought that along and it went perfect with the vision she had. I am very happy with the outcome of these photos and even more happy for my friend, Ashley because she has finally found her calling in the photographer world with beauty sessions such as the one she did with me. I love working with her (usually shooting with her) and I hope that some day we can combine our talents and become a team :)

Pint Sized Ballerina {Lifestyle}

If you guys remember back in February I had the opportunity to photograph the talented ballet dancer, Erin (Check out that post here). She not only was a fantastic dancer but such a nice person. Erin happens to have a little daughter whom I had met once prior to this shoot and she was so adorable. I asked Erin if she was into dancing and she didn't hesitate to tell me her daughter loves it and kind of beats to her own drum when it comes to ballet classes. I knew I had to capture this! So I again contacted Erin via Facebook to see if this would be something she would be interested in and sure enough she was more than happy to let me photograph her and her daughter. I sent her some images and she ended up ordering all new outfits just for this which I wasn't expecting nor asked but I am so glad she did because the big poofy tutu she found her daughter, Zoe was perfect! Once the outfits came in and she got the OK from the studio she works at to use the space we set a date. After much planning the day came to shoot and Zoe didn't disappoint! She was def all over the place and did her own thing which Erin kept apologizing...Kids will be kids and that's what I love! At the end of the day I only had to bribe Zoe once with a kitty sticker and I learned all about her dog and baby cousin. I am so happy with this session and I hope these are photos both Erin and Zoe will cherish forever.

 Erin brought in her pointe slippers for Zoe to 'try on' and it was so awesome to see her face light up!
 One slipper was nice but she needed to try on the second one

 Without being asked she just got up and tested out the slippers!
 Here's where the bribe came in! Got this idea from pinterest :)

 Showing me her stuff on the 'balance beam'

 Thank you Zoe for being you!

C&M's Engagement {Part Duce}

Last week I had the pleasure of shooting a young couple in love for their engagement photos. What was suppose to be a park turned sunset at the beach photo session we were only able to do the park due to a festival and traffic that was heading towards the beach we were going to take pictures at. Although it postponed the completion of their engagement pictures we were able to meet up at a different location and get some wonderful shots in. All week the weather had been more than picture taking ready as our days have been filled with rain.....lots of rain. I put on my dancing shoes and the the reverse rain dance so that we could do these photos and guess what it worked! No rescheduling needed! :) Hopefully once Chasidy and Mike tie the knot I can do a little session of the newlyweds.

 The low tide went perfect with their orange jerseys!

  And because we couldn't resist the roller and cement slides :)
For this session I asked my good friend, Ashley along for some guidance with the posing because I really didn't want to copy the same ones I did the last time and lets face it...she's great at posing couples.  I'm glad she came, not only was she great in the posing department but provided much comical relief as as usual. I am gonna miss her when we leave island but we have plans for when she gets back stateside and I know I will be able to go to her for guidance no matter where the Marines sends either of our families :)
What fun we create on a photo shoot...demonstrating poses for the couple in love. Thou I think Chasidy and Mike executed it a bit better than us ;)
